I can't relink my account with BankFolio, what do I do?"If you are unable to relink your account directly in BankFolio, this may be because your financial institution updated its security requirements. You can sign up (if you don't already have an account) or sign in with Plaid to ensure your account is securely connected with BankFolio.
-
How do I force restart BankFolio?Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app. As demostrated and explained here by Apple.
-
What financial institutions does BankFolio support?BankFolio supports the thousands of financial institutions that Plaid supports. A full list of supported institutions is available via Plaid's API. Please do not hesitate to reach out through our contact page if you have a question about a specific institution being supported.
-
How many transactions does BankFolio show?BankFolio pulls up to 500 transactions over a max history of one and a half years.
-
Why are my most recent transactions not showing up?We rely on Plaid to securely show you your account information and transactions. Plaid communicates with your bank accounts 4 - 6 times a day depending on your bank, and you are shown the most updated information that Plaid has. In short, any changes to your accounts will be communicated to BankFolio within 4 - 6 hours.
-
What data do you store? We store data on user settings and BankFolio-related features. You have your own encrypted user ID (which is auto-populated when contacting us through the app to identify your account) along with access keys used with Plaid's API to pull your account balance and transactions live. Your subscription or the max number of accounts you can have and the number of account removals are also stored here as unidentifiable numbers for billing purposes. BankFolio-related features such as saving goals and budgeting are also stored in a remote secure database. To protect your data as it travels over the Internet, we use Transport Layer Security (TLS). When you sign in to your bank account with BankFolio, an access key from Plaid's API is stored securely in a Google-managed database and then requested upon app launch or list refresh. This access key, only accessible by your own successful login, is then used along with other secure keys that BankFolio provides to retrieve account balances and transaction information and display everything directly onto your mobile device, with no middle man storing this data. Please review Plaid's privacy policy for further information on their practices.
-
Do you sell data to third-parties?We do not and will never sell your personal data to third-party companies because we ourselves do not collect that information. We only share your information with services whom we use to help deliver our Service. The three third-party services BankFolio uses are RevenueCat for billing, Plaid to show you your account and transaction information, and Google Cloud Firestore to securely authenticate and store your email with an auto-populated user ID that is linked to your authentication tokens with Plaid. RevenueCat and Plaid do not have access to or can see your email address through BankFolio, as we do not share that information with them. RevenueCat and Google Cloud Firestore do not have access to your financial data through Plaid. Each entity has access to the minimal amount of information it needs to perform its function or functions successfully.
